History
of the Rock County Health Department
|
|
The Rock County Health Department had its
beginnings in 1919 as a County Nursing Agency. In 1979 the Rock County
Board of Supervisors created a full service health department
incorporating the disciplines of Public Health Nurses and Sanitarians
to maximize the knowledge base applied to health prevention and
promotion for the community. In response to recent legislative changes
the Rock County Health Department was designated a level III agency.
This is the highest level of designation awarded in Wisconsin.
