The Treasurer is elected to a four-year
term and is responsible for the safety, disbursement and investment
of funds on deposit in the Treasurer’s Office consistent with State
Statutes and County Board policy. The
Treasurer's office maintains property tax records and is
responsible for the collection of property taxes. Transactions
affecting delinquent taxes and foreclosures according to Wisconsin
Statutes, 75.521 are also handled in the Treasurer's office.
The
County Treasurer provides information and services to local
municipal treasurers, assessors, clerks and to the public. Rock
County contracts with numerous municipalities to be the collection agent
for property taxes due and payable by January 31 of each year.
