The Rock County Parks Department received a National Park and Recreation Association Take me Fishing grant, which allows us offer FREE fishing and boating education programs for local schools and youth groups.

Why fishing education?  Water is one of the main features in Rock County Parks - thirteen parks have water access on seven different bodies of water. The system includes several canoe landings, boat launches, and fishing piers; so fishing is one of the main ways to recreate in the park system. Rock County Parks believes that it is important for youth and families to get outside and explore nature while staying close to home. The best way to encourage families to do this is by providing them the opportunity to give it a try.

If you are a scout or youth group leader, teacher, or event organizer interested in offering this free program, please contact the Community Coordinator.
