What does the Rock County LEPC do?
- Maintains procedures to warn and, if necessary, evacuate the public in the event of an emergency.
- Develops and keeps current a comprehensive chemical emergency response plan identifying chemical hazards in Rock County and outlining accidental release response procedures.
- Collects and maintains hazardous chemical inventory reports from facilities subject to the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act.
- Receives information about accidental releases of hazardous chemicals and ensure that emergency response plans are followed by the responsible party.
- Provides citizens and local government with information about hazardous chemicals and accidental releases of chemicals in their communities.
LEPC Meetings
- Rock County Local Emergency Planning Committee meets quarterly on the morning of the third Tuesday in each quarter.
