This beautiful 50 acre park consisting of mixed oak woods and open areas is located southwest of Beloit on Cty Hwy H and Mill Pond Road.  Drinking water, restrooms, and picnic tables are provied.

Visit the park to explore the wetland and northwoods on our new "Thomas G. Kautz Boardwalk and Nature Trail."  A grand opening celebration was held in July, 2011 to officially open this new trail system.

The County purchased 34 acres of park land in 1967.  In 1978, 16 acres of land and the mill building itself were purchased from the Beckman family.  As part of the sale agreement with the Beckman family, the park's name was officially changed in 1978 from Mill Pond Park to Beckman Mill County Park.

Contained in this park is the historic Beckman-Howe Mill which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  This mill is the last structure of its kind in Rock County.  It represents a bygone era when water power was used for many purposes.  In 1990, the "Friends of Beckman Mill, Incorporated" was founded by a group of local citizens and a long-term lease with Rock County went into effect.  Their goal was to renovate the mill and open it to the public as a 1920's era working museum. 

The Friends of Beckman Mill, Inc and the Welty Environmental Center are both located in this County Park.
