Hunter Safety

Hunter SafetyThe Rock County Sheriff's Office is actively engaged in the education of individuals interested in shooting and hunting sports by offering Hunter Education classes throughout the year. The Rock County Sheriff’s office, along with Milton VFW, supports this effort by supplying highly experienced instructors and equipment.

Classes are held Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 a.m.-4:00p.m. Students are required to attend every class. Classes are normally held at the Milton VFW, with registration held at the Rock County Sheriff's Office three weeks prior to class. Class cost is $10.00 per student. Firearms and ammunition are supplied for use during class. 

     April 14 & 15, 2012. - Look for additional classes beginning in the fall of 2012.

     April 28 & 29, 2012. - Look for additional classes beginning in the fall of 2012.

Registration* is at the Rock County Sheriff's Office. Date and time will be given when pre-registering.

Pre-registration is required by calling Sgt. John Cowan M-F, 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. @757-7946

 
*Students under 18 years old must have a parent/guardian accompany them to the registration.
