John Light was appointed Rock County Administrator in March 2025. Previously, Mr. Light has been the Interim Township Administrator for Lisle Township, IL, the Director of Human Resources for Lake County, IL, City of Des Plaines, IL, County of Kent, MI, Community Unit School District #300, Carpentersville, IL, McHenry County, IL, and Town of Parker, CO.  He also was the County Administrator for Stephenson County, IL. 

John has a master's degree in public administration from the University of Colorado.
