Co-Designing A New Way Forward
Rock Families First is a movement powered by trust; therefore, trust-building is the project's top priority for all involved. System leaders and workers spend time in preparation, creating readiness to receive (not just hear) the experiences of impacted parents. Feeling seen and supported, parents can speak to their experiences, needs, and desires. This shapes to vision of how to ensure families have access to what they need to succeed.
The IdeaBook
In 2022, the IdeaBook was created in a co-design process in partnership with Rock County staff, Alia, and parents (now known as the “BeeHive”) with lived experience from the Rock County community.
There are 4 Key solution areas outlined in the IdeaBook that house several community initiatives and systems change starting points for Rock County:
1. Building a Community-Led Peer Response
2. Creating Stability and Mobility for Families
3. Building Community Awareness through Outreach
4. Providing a One-Stop-Shop Place for Support
Read through the IdeaBook summary to see what this looks like for a family in the community!
