The respiratory virus season is generally defined as the time of year when respiratory infections are most prevalent, typically taking place from September through February.

Each week during respiratory virus season, we provide an updated summary of current trends in caseloads along with simple prevention strategies to keep you from getting sick. These weekly updates are posted to this webpage, to our social media platforms, and to our Healthy Rock dashboard.

Many respiratory viruses affect us each year. Three specific viruses are considered reportable in cases where they lead to hospitalization and/or a pediatric death: COVID-19influenza (flu), and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). Other common respiratory viruses include adenoviruses and rhinoviruses, which are not reportable.
