Policy decisions occur through many avenues, including in municipalities, counties, and through state and federal agencies. The impacts of policy decisions are often reflected in the environment and in our health. Understanding and addressing these policy impacts is part of the role of public health. As a local health department, we develop, implement, support, and advocate for health-promoting policies, plans, and laws.
