County Veterans Service Officer

Paul Crawford

Paul served in the United States Marine Corps from 2009-2013.  He was stationed at MCAS Miramar in San Diego, CA as an Aviation Ordnanceman.  He deployed for 8 months on the 13^th MEU aboard the USS Boxer.  Paul joined the Rock County Veterans Service Office in 2017 as a Deputy Veterans Service Officer I.  In August of 2021, he took over as the County Veterans Service Officer.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Cincinnati.    

He is a resident of Rock County in Janesville, WI.

Nicholas Horkan

Nick started with the Veterans Office in 2015 after coming over from another department within Rock County where he was a Financial Specialist. He has been with the County since 2008. Nick was promoted to Deputy Veterans Service Officer in 2024. Nick studied International Business at Marquette University in Milwaukee. Nick has lived most of his life in Rock County where his family has deep farming roots in the Milton community.

He currently resides in Janesville, WI.

Assistant County Veterans Service Officer

Gerald Sieren

Gerald served in the United States Marine Corps from 1987-1989 and 1990 -1993. He was stationed at Kaneohe MCAS, 3^RD MAR REIN as a Combat Engineer and Camp Lejune, 2^ND MAR DIV. He deployed for 5 months during Desert Storm. Gerald worked for the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs for 6 years before joining the Rock County Veterans Service Office in November of 2021. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Anthem University and degrees in Criminal Justice and Human Resource Management.

He was born in Rock County and has resided in Rock County majority of his life.

Veterans Benefits Specialist

Eric Krueger

Eric served within the AGR Program in the Wisconsin Army National Guard from 2005-2023. He was stationed in Fort Atkinson, WI; Madison, WI; Watertown, WI as an Infantryman and Cavalry Scout. He deployed to Kuwait/Iraq in 2005-2006 with CO A 2-128 IN, 32d IBCT, deployed again to Iraq 2009-2010 with A TRP 1-105 CAV (RS), 32d IBCT.

Eric supported Hurricane Katrina recovery operations in 2005, and was assigned security duties at the Inauguration of Joseph Biden, in 2021. He also has multiple awards for his service to the State of Wisconsin, including riots in Kenosha, Madison, and Milwaukee; flood responses in Madison, Wisconsin Dells, and Langlade County, WI and COVID-19 Response. Eric retired from the Army in June 2023 and worked as a Soldier and Family Readiness Specialist for the State of Wisconsin prior to being hired in 2024 as a Veteran Benefits Specialist within the Rock County Veteran Service Office.

He is a resident of Rock County in Janesville, WI.
