hunter safety 1The Rock County Sheriff's Office is actively engaged in the education of individuals interested in shooting sports by offering Hunter Education classes throughout the year.

The law requires anyone born on or after January 1, 1973, complete the Hunter education to legally hunt in the state of Wisconsin.

The Sheriff's Office strongly encourages everyone to complete the hunter safety program.

Class cost is $10.00 per student.

Each class is limited to the first thirty (30) students. Pre-registration is required by completing the online registration form via the links in the Scheduled Classes section below.  After completing the online registration, you will receive an Email with confirmation and registration information.

COVID19 Modified Course Information

Please select from the available courses below. Once you have completed the required online registration additional instructions and materials will be sent out.

A parent/guardian will need to pick up course materials, prior to the mandatory ZOOM meeting. Zoom Meeting link will be sent out, once online registration is complete. Materials can be picked up between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at the Community Corrections Building 3506 N Highway 51, Janesville WI 53545. Please note: Rock County Policy requires a mask to be worn while inside all Rock County owned buildings.

When materials are picked up a class fee of $10.00 (non-refundable) per student, will be collected. A registration form will also be completed and a parent/guardian signature is required for all persons under the age of 18.
